Professor Regine Gerike elected Chairwoman of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Federal Highway Research Institute
The Scientific Advisory Board of the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) is an association of national and international scientists which, as an external body, advises the management of the BASt on fundamental, strategic matters and thus contributes to the quality assurance of the BASt. Membership of the Scientific Advisory Board is on an honorary basis.
The Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) is the technical and scientific research institution of the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport (BMDV) in the field of roads. Founded in 1951, the BASt is responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of research projects. The BASt also carries out consulting and expert activities as well as testing and certification with regard to the safety, environmental compatibility, economic efficiency and performance of roads in Germany.
Univ.-Prof.in Dr.-Ing. Regine Gerike succeeds Prof. Wolfram Ressel from the University of Stuttgart as the newly elected Chairwoman of the Scientific Advisory Board. Prof. Kerstin Lemke from the University of Siegen is the deputy chairwoman.
